ROAD TO LIFE MINISTRIES
Virtues of Faith

Hebrews 11:1: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Let me start by saying, "Faith is the power of God working in you."
Faith is the reason you are here today.
You may have many other things that you could do today, but because of faith, you chose to come here and receive
the word of the Lord. Why?
There are two reasons:
1. The drawing of the Spirit.
2. Because something deep within you is searching for reproof, correction, and  instruction in righteousness.
That something is Faith!
Faith reaches out to what it cannot grasp physically, by searching spiritually.
Faith looks toward a greater, higher power, that has no carnal explanation.
Faith searches the inner depths of the heart, to relieve the burdens of the flesh.

God gave us free will to ignore or to accept the human desire to seek Him.
When we choose to accept this desire we will find that faith has many virtues.
Many fulfillments to our spiritual needs.
I would like to explore three of these virtues with you today.
First, Faith has value.

1) The Value of Faith

Hebrews 11:6: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and
that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Many Christians do not realize the value of faith.
Many think that they can have it, or do without it.
God does not want you to do without anything that is not sinful.

Lk:12:32: Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

The kingdom is filled with glory, treasure, and wonders that are entirely immeasurable to man.
God wants you to have whatsoever your heart desires.
He has left nothing out, in all that he has prepared for you.

The value of faith goes far beyond mere estimation.
With faith we can accomplish everything that God wants of us.

Matt. 9:20: And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and
touched the hem of his garment:
21: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22: But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee
whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

This woman reached out to what she could not understand in the natural, for something she hoped to gain in the
natural.
It was the evidence of what she could not see, and the substance of her hope.
She was stricken for twelve years, anyone who has lived in discomfort for that long has tried every feasible possibility
to alleviate themselves of their discomfort.
She could have resolved herself to the way of Christian thinking today, "I can live with it or without it, it doesn't really
matter."

Without faith we can do little or nothing at all!

She chose not to accept her situation and to apply her faith.
In doing so she received her desire naturally, and increased her faith spiritually.
How did she do it!!
She PLEASED God. It's that simple.
I'll almost guarantee you that this woman was a believer the rest of her days.

She discovered the value of faith.
And to her its was worth more than silver or gold. It became her greatest treasure.
Her desire, became a vision, and then a reality.

21: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

Faith always has a desire, and is followed by a vision.

2) The Vision of Faith

Heb. 12:1: Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every
weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

This woman saw her healing before she ever received it.
Not in the supernatural, but in her heart, where her faith was.
Then she began to look towards the author and finisher of her faith.

Websters defines "vision" as, "the ability to perceive something not actually visible".
Faith is the evidence of things not seen.

Many Christians today lack the vision of faith.
They see only the temporal life and its allurements.

God has a vision for each and everyone who calls upon the name of Christ.
That vision is to give you peace and bring you to and expected end.

Jere. 29:11: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to
give you an expected end.

It is utterly impossible to fulfill the expectation of God without faith!!!

Jesus said that He has gone to prepare a place for you.
God wants you to obtain eternal life with Him.

A life without longing.
A life without suffering.
A life filled with the fullness of His glory.

But you don't have to wait until you get to heaven to have it.
If you can envision it now, it can be yours now.

A vision set within the boundaries of Gods word is obtainable by faith.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, and realize the value of the gift He has given you.

Faith brings victory!

3) The Victory of Faith

1 John 5:4: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world,
even our faith.

Many Christians today struggle with the same afflictions that they had when they were born again.
This due to the lack of applying faith.
They are trying to hold onto the world with one hand and the Lord with the other.
This tragic mixture will bring failure.
There is no victory in the midst of a raging battle. The victory comes at the end of the fight.

Our victory lies in our faith.
We overcome the world and all of its afflictions by believing on the Lord Jesus.

1 John 5:5: Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

The more faith that we have, the greater victory we possess.
This is what God wants us to do. To possess the victory.

When the Children of Israel were going around their mountain, God sent them from Kadesh-Barnea and told them to
go in and possess the land.
But the Children believed not God, nor did they listen to Him. And Moses had to intercede for them because they had
angered God. They refused to possess the land, and God wanted to destroy them.  (
Deut. 9:23)

Stop and think about that for a second.
Are you applying faith that overcomes the world today?

Conclusion

In the church today, faith is the most unused gift of all.
Even though it is given in abundance.
We live in our infirmities.
We lack any kind of vision.
We seek no ventures.
And we overcome no obstacles.

Why?
Because we have not understood the virtues of faith.
We are to busy making excuses that allow us to relinquish our rights of faith today.
It is easier to become what we are not, than to be what we are.

Kings and Queens, A Royal Priesthood, Over-comers in Christ Jesus, through our faith!!!

Faith is the one essential that no Christian can afford to be without.

The Bible tells us:
2 Cor. 13:5: Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.Know ye not your own selves,
how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

It is time for the church to show forth their faith by their works.  (
James 2:18)
This is not a difficult task.

When we know the value of faith and see the vision of faith, we will experience the victory of faith.
