Doesn't everyone want something for nothing? Of course they do. Some folks want one thing, others want
something else, but, we all want it for nothing. We all like to do our shopping on the sale isle, or we go to the
bargain department of whatever store we are in, trying to find the best deal we can. How about those Saturday
"They ought to just give that thing away, or else throw it in the trash." I guess it goes back to the old saying, "One
mans junk is another mans treasure." It appears to me as if some people who have those things are trying to turn
their junk into treasure, Amen.
The fact is, we all have something for nothing. God knew how we were going to be even before he started. So,
he gave us a world to live in, and filled it with many things that we can enjoy. Have you ever really looked at the
beauty of nature? Nature can be an exhilarating experience when it is seen in the light of a loving and all powerful
God. He has given us many wonderful things, created just for our enjoyment.
The most wonderful gift of all, is his love for us. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his
only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him, should not perish, but have everlasting life." Out of divine love
we have been given eternal life. We did not earn it, nor did we purchase it. We didn't even have to work for it at
all. But we have received it for absolutely nothing. Something for Nothing. Now that's what I call a good deal.
Even after his most precious gift, he continues to give freely of himself. He gave us the comforter to lead us and
guide us down the path which we are to take, to make sure that we receive the life that he has given.
In todays world, it is hard to find anything that is absolutely free. Many things appear to be a good deal until we
actually receive them. Seems like we always wind up paying for them, one way or another. What a wonderful
God we serve, one who has actually given us the deal of a lifetime. Eternal life through Jesus. At no cost to you, if
you search with all your heart, you can find something for nothing.
God Bless You,
